Spring Blossom
A girlgroup ficfest
“A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose. All flowers are beautiful in their own way, and that’s like women too.” – Miranda Kerr
About
Hello, and welcome to Spring Blossom, a fic fest dedicated to all idol girl group content creators and fans alike! Our aim is simple: to encourage girl group fans to write to their hearts’ content and fill the AO3, and to bring the community together so that we may encourage and support each other.
We welcome all levels of fic writers, of all genres, to join us in this fest and celebrate girl power; is your girl in a legendary K-Pop group? Is she the cutest new J-Pop idol? Is she ready to conquer C-Pop, by herself or with her bandmates? We want to read your fanfiction!
This fic fest is divided into two different modes, to cater to everyone’s comfort as much as possible. If you choose bingo mode, our mods will tailor a bingo card to you, and you are encouraged to tick off as many boxes as possible. If you choose prompt mode, you may take your pick from the prompts other fans have left as requests, and write someone’s dream fic.
Rules
No underage NSFW, non-con, incest, or beastiality will be accepted as either prompts or entries.
Genderbending characters is not allowed; however, we welcome trans representation of all kinds, including the non-binary spectrum, as long as they are portrayed in a respectful manner.
Your fic must feature at least one female idol, and it’s encouraged that she be the focus of it. Of course, the more, the better!
The final wordcount should be a minimum of 1000 words for both modes; there is no maximum wordcount.
You are welcome to write any ship, whether LGBTQ+ or straight, crossover or not.
You may write about any solo or group member female idol of your choice in K-Pop, J-Pop, or C-pop.
No plagiarism will be allowed; likewise, bashing of other contestants will get you immediately banned, as will episodes of racism, sexism, homophobia, and religious or cultural intolerance.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the mods on Twitter, Tumblr, or CuriousCat, as well as by e-mail.
F.A.Q.
Q: Can I participate in both modes?
A: Yes! You are the one who knows yourself best.
Q: Can I self-claim?
A: Yes.
Q: What timezone do you operate on?
A: We operate on UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). All deadlines are to be interpreted as 11:59P.M. of the final day.
Q: Why does prompt mode have more check-ins than bingo mode?
A: In prompt mode, you are taking on a responsibility by writing for someone else. We encourage writers that opt to pick up a prompt to try their hardest and keep to schedule! In bingo mode, your only partner is you, so the check-in is just a way for us to verify whether you are still interested in the fest.
Q: Why do I have to give my age?
A: We do not want anyone under the age of 17 creating NSFW content for this fest; if you are under a certain age, we will automatically put you in the category of participants that aren't to be assigned or receive NSFW content.
Q: What if I can’t make a deadline?
A: Contact the mods, and we’ll do our best to provide accommodation.
Q: What if I can’t write for the fest anymore?
A: We’ll be sad to see you go! If you’re doing prompt mode, especially, please contact us about it so that we may free your prompt for someone else!
Q: I have a question that isn’t answered here.
A: Feel free to contact the mods anywhere between Twitter, CuriousCat, Tumblr, or e-mail; you can find our social media buttons below.
Bingo Mode
In bingo mode, you will receive a bingo card of prompts and tropes that the mods will tailor to you specifically! You may tick off as many boxes as you wish, whether just the one that strikes your fancy or all of them. To succeed, by the end of the fest you should have at least one prompt completed. While bingo mode will operate on the same basic timeline as prompt mode, the AO3 collection will be open to additions afterwards, for those who wish to keep using their card to write more about our girls, so let your fantasy run wild!

Prompt Mode
In prompt mode, there will be a first phase where writers and readers alike can leave the prompts they wish to see written, and a second one where writers will claim their favorite prompt from the list of provided ones. Authors may choose to claim any prompt, even their own, but they may only claim one prompt at a time. Submitted prompts, instead, have no limit; anyone may suggest as many ideas as they like.
When submitting a prompt, you will be required to answer a few questions; namely, whether you are okay with NSFW content, content you do NOT want to see, and group(s) you'd like it written for. A 'no' on NSFW must ALWAYS be respected by the author who claims the prompt, as must the potentially triggering content. A 'yes' on NSFW, as well as any groups indicated, are to be considered optional so that authors may have as much creative freedom as possible.
